Support Jägers are a new elite enemy type introduced in Sniper Elite 4.
Sniper Elite 4[]
Support Jägers wear dark green uniforms with a harness, knee pads, different ammo packs and an ammo belt around their neck. For headgear they wear a toque with a strap under a steel helmet they have the rank of Feldwebel (Technical Sergeant) on their sleeves.
Support Jägers are armed with FG 42 machine guns, in close combat they use AP 38 handguns. While these soldiers are deadly by themselves, their main purposes it to suppress targets to allow other units such as infantry and other Jägers to move forward. Support Jägers mostly appear alongside regular Jägers, they are however not as common as them as a full luftwaffe squad usually has one or two Support Jägers.
Two support Jägers named Lutz Weinmann and Waldemar Schlüter appear as Hitler's elite bodyguards in the Target Führer DLC. they follow him around as He tours the base and will defend him and escort him to the VIP boat if he is threatened.
It is not possible to have an FG 42 in the player loadout. killing a Support Jäger is the only way to collect one.
Valkyrie Support Jäger[]
The Valkyrie Support Jäger is an elite unit of the SS Paratrooper squad Valkyrie, they use FG 42s and also carry Luger pistols.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War[]
The Ammo Carrier Zombie, resembles a Support Jäger with the same uniform and ammo belts, it also has ammo tied to its helmet. it carries ammo which the player needs to stompt the zombie to collect. the Zombie also uses firearms to shoot at the player, however as they are dead they have terrible accuracy.
Sniper Elite 5[]
The Support Jäger returns in Sniper Elite 5 now known as the "Jäger Support". their is also a new variant called the "Vampir Jäger".
Jäger Support[]
Jäger Supports wear dark green uniforms with black pants and knee pads, an ammo belt and a camouflage covered helmet, Jäger Supports can also appear as reinforcements, These soldiers wear Toques and straps like the Support Jägers in Sniper Elite 4.
They now carry MG 42 machine guns which can cut down the players health in seconds. They are much more rare, appearing as enemies in Liberation (where only a single one appears), Secret Weapons and Kraken Awakes, and appear as reinforcements in Festung Guernsey. Support Jägers are much more common in survival mode.
Vampir Jäger[]
A new variant first appearing in War Factory, they use MP44 Assault rifles with "Vampir" infared scopes, they look the same as the Jäger Support and wear large battery packs, they mostly appear in night missions, where their scopes will help find the player in darkness.

- Support Jägers sound like normal infantry, unlike normal Jägers, who have deep voices.
- Support Jägers will sling their rifles over their shoulders while walking and hold them by the barrel while running. the player does the same when they pick one up.
- The Jäger troops in game are Fallschirmjäger ("Airborne Hunters"), Luftwaffe light infantry trained as parachutists. After receiving heavy casualties during the parachute assault on Crete in the Aegean in 1941, Hitler forbade their deployment as paratroopers and had them used as conventional light infantry.
- Support Jägers are very rare in Sniper Elite 5, apparently being replaced by the more common Vampir Jäger.
