Office of Strategic Services

The Office of Strategic Services (OSS) was an American Intelligence Agency during World War II. It was formed in 1942 in order to conduct Espionage activities behind enemy lines, for the sake of gathering intelligence, sabotage, assassination, and general disruption of enemy activity. They were the precursor to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) formed during the Cold War.

Karl Fairburne acted as an operative of the OSS during the War. He was deployed for the purposes of assassination, recon and sabotage. Known deployments are in North Africa in 1942 during Operation Compass, Italy in 1943, and Berlin in 1945, during the final Days of the Battle of Berlin, as part of Operation Overcast.

Fairburne's missions were instrumental in saving lives during the war.
