An MP40

The MP40 is a submachine gun featured in the Sniper Elite series. It was designed in 1938, and it was used by the German forces during WWII in small numbers. The MP40 has a fast rate of fire, but is not as accurate as the Thompson. It's 9mm Parabellum ammo also lacks the power of the Thompson's .45 ACP. But yet, this weapon is so common that players can get ammunition making this weapon a choice for single player campagin.

Sniper Elite V2 Edit

"The German MP 40 lacks the accuracy of the Thomson, however it makes up for this with a higher rate of fire and more plentiful ammunition when behind enemy lines."
— in-game description
Most of the German soldiers carry the MP40, making ammunition easy to come by. It is unlocked after finishing the mission Schönberg Streets.

Trivia Edit

  • The MP40 is the most common weapon in the series used by enemies and allies (Zombie Army Trilogy).
  • This submachine gun is made obsolete by the MP44 in performance, but seeing as ammunition is rare, so MP40 is still debatably a better choice in Sniper Elite V2 (in the single player campaign, anyway).
