The Karabiner 98k ("Carbine Model 1898-short") is a German Bolt action rifle. It was mass produced and saw use in every theater, even when the new Gewehr 41 and Gewehr 43 semi-auto rifles were produced. It is also used by some armies today.
Sniper Elite V2[]
"The German Kar 98 has the highest zoom of any of the available rifles. A lower muzzle velocity requires some compensation from the user at long distances, and the bolt action mechanism slows the rate of fire."
The Kar98 appears as part of the Assassinate the Fuhrer DLC. It has very high zoom, making it perfect for long distance shots.

The Kar 98 behaves the same as in SEV2. it often appears in Safe Rooms or can be found in levels.

The Camouflaged Kar98K appears in the International Camouflage Rifles Pack: it has less recoil, but also slightly less muzzle velocity.
Sniper Elite 4[]
"The bolt action "Karabiner 98 kurz" was adopted in 1935 as the standard rifle of the German Wehrmacht, developed from earlier Mauser designs and remained in use throughout WWII. Rifles selected for accuracry were fitted with a telescopic sight for sniper use."
The Karabiner 98K is an unlockable Sniper Rifle in Sniper Elite 4, it can be unlocked for 5 Tokens.
The Kar 98K appears used by German Infantry. Scoped Versions appear used by Jägers and Snipers.

Sniper Elite 5[]
In Campaign, the Karabiner 98k can be unlocked in Mission 2 if the player successfully performs a kill on Friedrich Kummler by crushing him with the ballroom's chandelier.

- The Kar98 appears used by Karl Fairburne on the covers of most games.
- Despite being the Standard rifle of the German army, it would not be seen used by Regular German troops until Sniper Elite 4.
